‘LumiSi’ is an ever-morphing ‘musical mobile’, suspended within a defined timbral orb and taking direct inspiration from the kinetic sculptures of Alexander Calder.

As with the animated lines and forms of Calder’s mobiles, the sounds of ‘LumiSi’ are continually defined and redefined by their own movement in (musical) space. The title refers to the ‘lumisigns’ used in Holopoetry to mark the establishment of verbal-visual relationships through the re-envisioning of kinetic forms in space.

Reapproaching ‘LumiSi’ in 2023, I was curious to retranslate this musical mobile back into the visual via video. The final abstracted video depicts a visual isolation of continual movement, liberated from any discernible source or trigger.
