‘Dreaming & Hugging’ is an installation/performance exploring themes of self-doubt and feeling like you’re not good enough through the format of a children’s TV show. Zeb plays the presenter, James, alongside two other characters referred to as ‘monkey’ and ‘Egg Man’, a strange figure who engages in physical self-abuse by repeatedly hitting himself with a spoon. This contrast of sweet and innocent moments with darker scenes of self-harm is accompanied by a partly improvised score built around processed vocal recordings and performed live by Helena.
